Material Handler/Buffer Controller (Ehemaliger Mitarbeiter) – Sparks, NV – 1. März 2019
I was employed with the company for a year and have seen a large number of people come and go. This was either due to Tesla hiring literally anyone off the street that could pass a background check, or people becoming fed up with the disorganization, poor management, or poor leadership that goes on at the gigafactory. The recruiters and other associates you will listen to at orientation have little to no idea what’s is going on, and if they think they do it is because they are going based off of outdated experience within the company. They will try to paint you a pretty picture of what it is like to work at the gigafactory, but take that with a grain of salt. This is a corporate job through and through and is ran like one. The disorganization and lack of experience in management is astonishing. They do not know nor understand how the departments they are responsible for function, and they have absolutely no interest in trying to learn when issues arise that require their immediate attention. They will simply kick the can down the road so someone else could be held responsible. Training is a joke and you will have to rely on yourself or a trusted coworker for help. I had to correct a training document put together by someone well above my pay grade because It contained incorrect information. Had it been followed someone could have gotten seriously injured. Attendance is a very controversial subject. There is a strict policy currently in place which every supervisor is supposed to use and implement amongst their team. That is not the case however, as they will pick and choosemehr... who to enforce these rules on. There is a large amount of people who work here, and that will work in the same department as you when you are off. This leads to work areas constantly changing and tools needed on certain aspects of the job to become misplaced making it very inconvenient and difficult to work. There is no efficient communication amongst differing shifts and everyone wants to do things their own way. This was extremely stressful while trying to conduct projects that were implemented by a higher up on shift, because the progress made on one shift would be completely different, changed, or wiped while you were off by another shift. There is also not enough equipment for everyone to use (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks etc.), even though there is what looks like to be a pick and pull of these sitting outside in a dirt lot. The newness and lack of experience this place shows is evident, and I am unsure when Elon himself will see what is going on and make the appropriate changes necessary for the sake of his company. If you can put up with all of the tomfoolery that goes on here, apply with caution.Weniger
Production Associate (Derzeitiger Mitarbeiter) – Sparks, NV – 8. September 2019
Lack of motivation, constantly hearing what a bad job you as a group are doing rather than speaking to the offending individuals. If the line breaks it is operator error, rather than poor engineering. Management doesn't follow the company policy, they make up their own policies, if you question their policies you will be wrote up or pushed out of the door.
